With lockdown currently in effect all over the world it gives some of us more time to play poker online. Let’s take a look at some of the leading poker rooms and see what’s on offer at the moment.
Here is a list of poker rooms you may want to check out. It’s good to have a variety of accounts because they are all competing for your business and offer some fantastic sign up deals and freeroll bonuses
PartyPoker
New customer offer
This has typically been my go to site for playing poker. Off the bat they a great 1st time customer offer they have is £40 in free play. These are credited to your account as tickets for free entry into real money tournaments.

User Interface
The user interface is very important with poker clients. If you are going to sit behind a screen and play for hours then its important to use a client that looks and feels nice to use. Back in the day I used to use the classic view which was as basic as it could look because personally I prefer to focus on the game and cards than the graphics and avatars. You don’t seem to be able to use that anymore – which is a shame however the new gui at Partypoker is very nice.
You can customise this to your liking in various different ways but it looks basically like this. You can also use your own pictures as an avatar (subject to approval).
Tournaments
Poker tournaments come and go and you would need to just get an account and log in to see what’s on offer.
At the moment at Partypoker between October 29 – November 8 there is the 2020 WPT Montreal which has the ultimate prizepool of 3m CAD. There are many games and qualifiers available, more info can be found here https://www.worldpokertour.com/event/main-tour-wpt-montreal-season-2019-2020/#eventTab1
Personally my go to games at Partypoker are Omaha Hi Lo tournaments and I’ve had good success playing them here.

Casino & SportsBetting
Once you have an account with Partypoker you can also use this login to play an extensive range of Casino games and the latest slots and also Sportsbetting.
Bwin
Bwin is the brother/sister site of Partypoker. It offers much the same as Partypoker but with a few twists and different features. You can also currently get a £20 sportsbetting backup bet on their current promotion.
888 Poker
At 888 you can get quite a lot of freeroll entries with no deposit. This is a great starting point for many players because you can get actively involved in some great real money games without making any deposit.

888 Freebie Wheel
You can will currently also get to spin the superstorm wheel for extra bonuses. You can spin this wheel for a new freebie every single day. I have just done this and won a freeroll into the Superstorm main event freeroll.
888 User Interface
You can also use your 888 poker account to play all the other games available from 888 such as live casino, slots and sportsbetting.
888 Casino
888 Sports Promo
These are the 4 sites that personally I use for playing my poker games and they offer so much content and freerolls. The other sites are definitely worth checking out though because each site will give you a new player offer and all of them have great value tournaments as they all try to compete for your attention.
With Casino bonuses there is always a minumum playthrough such as 35x before you can make a withdrawal. With poker sites though it doesn’t really work that way. If you get a freeroll ticket into a real money game and you win a cash prize, normally that cash is yours to keep, cashout, play with again or whatever you choose.
The risk/reward with Poker is very good if you are a decent player and you have the time to invest. I have many times invested time into Poker and got very good results. I’m no WSOP Champion but I can tell you that if you are willing to put in the time and effort and can get up and start again after those dreaded bad beats then there is money to made playing poker online. With so many people working from home at the moment, it makes sense that the business would be booming. The more players involved, the more money there is up for grabs and the more fish to fry.
